Live With The Earth

We’ve been leading the way in “green” gardening for over 20 years. In addition to offering many eco-conscious gardening products to you, we have a commitment to the purchase and use of materials that will best utilize natural resources and minimize negative impacts on our environment. For instance, our catalogs are printed on paper that uses 42% less wood fiber than equivalent stocks, and the all-natural packaging peanuts used to secure your purchases are made from biodegradable vegetable starch. We also endorse extensive company-wide recycling and waste management in all of our day-to-day operations. You can even take advantage of our efforts by bringing in your spent HID lamps and fluorescent bulbs for recycling at any of our Worm’s Way stores.

Below are links to articles on Earth-Friendly gardening practices, Earth-Friendly product listings, and other environmental resources.

Conserving Water with Hydroponics
Did you know hydroponic gardening actually conserves water? This is because most hydroponic systems are “closed” and recycle the water and nutrients back to the plant. Irrigated soil gardens experience a far higher rate of water loss due to evaporation and runoff. All-in-all, hydroponics requires about one tenth the amount of water that traditional growing methods demand.
